This upgrade for RAS software is now made available with some new features and also some improvements. This is a major new version, both for RAS, and for TIM the underlying image processing environment. RASv2 is a software package better fit to the new generation of IBM AT compatible PC with the Intel Pentium processors; it also makes use of available extended memory for more internal image buffering, freing more DOS memory for RAS and external programs. The software/hardware protection key (dongle) is changed from the serial to the parallel port. This dongle is much more reliable. It is completely transparent to the external device, so it can be placed between the PC and the printer. Hence it saves a serial port. Furthermore, it works fine with high speed Pentium PCs, and does not experience the problems of the serial dongle connected to a RS232 port. Among other new features and improvements in TIM and RAS : - Improved transfer to and from hard disk and floppy disk. Also manage files in image subdirectory on floppy disks. - Printing video images on high resolution line printers (EPSON 24-pin, HP LaserJet Series II, Postscript,...). - Saving and Display of video images in TIFF format (to export images to text processing and desk top publishing programs for making technical reports). - Better and more clear menu management. - Better and more comprehensive Help function. - Comprehensive RAS User Interface. - Internal tests of the vision board and of PC parameters - Choice of the standard PCVision Plus board from ITI or of the real-time VFG video processor (real-time arithmetics for deformation analysis, 4-image buffer). - Use of the GRAPH_3D interactive fringe analysis as a post-graphical package. Required to obtain 3d-plots, contour plots and multiple cross-sections of the amplitudes. The options in RASv2 are the same as were for RAS v1, plus the GRAPH_3D interactive fringe program (which cannot be used with RAS v1). These different options were improved and optimized. Pricing for RASv2 and options is about the same as for RAS v1. The upgrade package contains the new dongle, new manuals for RASv2 and TIM, and the distribution floppy diskettes. The GRAPH_3D post-graphical package is offered as a supplementary option with its own manual. |
